Frequently asked questions

Find quick answers about the DigiSET project, training programmes, and how to get involved.

What is DigiSET?
DigiSET — Digitally Sustainable European Teacher Academy — is an Erasmus+ Teacher Academy project funded by the European Union. It brings together 16 partners from 8 European countries to develop a comprehensive training framework that empowers teachers with digital, green, and transversal competences aligned with DigCompEdu, GreenComp, and LifeComp frameworks.
Who can participate in DigiSET training?
DigiSET targets teachers at all levels (EQF 1–5), including those in initial teacher education and in-service training. School heads, teacher trainers, policymakers, and education stakeholders can also benefit from the project's outputs and events. The project aims to reach at least 700 teachers directly and 2,100 people in total across Europe.
How can I join the Community of Practice?
The DigiSET Community of Practice (CoP) is open to teachers, educators, and institutions interested in digital sustainability in education. The CoP will be hosted on the DigiSET LMS platform and will provide a space for collaboration, knowledge exchange, and professional development. Registration details will be published on this website and shared through our social channels.
Will there be a free online course (MOOC)?
Yes. DigiSET will develop a Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) on digital sustainability competences for teachers. The MOOC will be freely accessible through the project's LMS platform and will include modules on digital pedagogy, AI in education, green digital skills, and inclusive teaching practices. Micro-credentials and European recognition through the Europass framework are planned.
What are Open Educational Resources (OERs)?
OERs are teaching, learning, and research materials freely available for anyone to use, adapt, and redistribute. DigiSET will develop OERs focused on digital sustainability competences for teachers, published on the project platform and disseminated through EPALE, eTwinning, and the School Education Gateway (Teacher Academy).
How long does the project last?
The DigiSET project runs for 36 months, from January 2026 to December 2028. The first year focuses on research and framework development (Start-up phase), the second year on training delivery and piloting (Implementation phase), and the third year on dissemination, sustainability, and exploitation (Follow-up phase).
Will there be events in my country?
DigiSET plans at least 7 national dissemination events, one in each partner country (Austria, Italy, Romania, Bulgaria, Ireland, Spain, Turkey, and Norway), plus a final international conference in Istanbul. Each event will host a minimum of 50 participants and will be available in hybrid format (both online and in person). Check our Timeline page for dates and locations.
How can I stay updated on DigiSET?
Follow us on our social media channels (LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, and YouTube) and subscribe to our biannual newsletter to receive project updates, event invitations, and access to our scientific interviews and talks. You can also visit our News page for the latest articles and announcements.
